the elearning department supports faculty with training to design and deliver the best online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses in the northwest. elearning faculty development courses are designed and taught by your ccs instructional designer, ben whitmore (email@example.com).
you can participate in online training through the canvas-based faculty development course that features training on a different elearning topic monthly. this training is open to all ccs faculty and includes the complete online student experience with instruction, discussion, quizzes, and even actual assignments. there is no better way to build and sharpen your online teaching skills than taking online training yourself. additionally, completion of each month's required activities make you eligible for a $25 stipend paid at the end of each quarter.
additionally, you can access on-demand trainings that are self-paced and available to faculty at any time for brushing up on something you've learned before, or learning something completely new. there is no stipend or required assessments for these trainings, so feel free to work through as much or as little as you need. submit assignments if you would like some feedback on your work. if there is something you would like to learn that you don't see, please let the elearning team know.
in-person training at the tlc is offered as well, and your can schedule individual consultations with your instructional designers. contact ben whitmore for more information - firstname.lastname@example.org.
